Legislative Day 2013

Registration is now closed.

PSNA’s Legislative Day will be held on April 15, 2013, at the State Capitol in Harrisburg.

The day will start with a complimentary breakfast at the Harrisburg Hilton* (One North 2nd St., Harrisburg, PA 17101) at 8:00 am. Doors open at 7:30 am. Next,  Associate Director of State Government Affairs of the American Nurses Association (ANA) Janet Haebler, MSN, RN, will present “If not now, when? If not in Pennsylvania, where? Which will be followed by “Only in Pennsylvania (Legislative Update),” by PSNA Director of Government Affairs Kevin J. Busher. These sessions will award 1.25 CEs.  After the legislative overview sessions, Majority Whip Representative Stan Saylor will present “Getting Your Legislator to Listen” (1.0 CE awarded). The morning will conclude with a press conference in the Capitol Rotunda. You will then have the opportunity to meet with your legislators, which PSNA will schedule your appointments based on your registration information. Your participation will show legislators your passion for nursing and allow them face-to-face time with our State’s health care experts. After lunch-on-your-own, we will gather again at the Harrisburg Hilton for our final CE, “Advocacy 201, Taking the process to the next level” presented by Mary Ann Dailey, PhD, RN (1.0 CE awarded). The day’s continuing education is FREE to PSNA members and non-RN students. CE cost is $10 for non-members.

* Parking is available at a reduced rate at the Walnut Street parking garage connected to the hotel (215 Walnut St., Harrisburg, PA 17101).

Remember to wear your white lab coats to let everyone know you are a nurse!  We also ask that you bring your camera and post your Legislative Day pictures on Twitter (@PSNA_GOVA) #PSNALegisDay2013 and on the PSNA Facebook fan page.
